Chelsea have reportedly fixed an exit fee for Romelu Lukaku in the 2024 summer transfer window, which would enable him to leave the club for about £37 million.

Reports indicate that there is an agreement in place that will enable the Belgian to depart Stamford Bridge for that fee in 2024.

Chelsea loaned Romelu Lukaku to AS Roma on August 30, 2023, for a loan fee of €5.8 million.

He has made 8 appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring 7 goals and providing no assists across all competitions.

The 30-year-old has been remarkable for Jose Mourinho’s side in his first few games, scoring goals with reckless abandon.

He was ostracized from the Chelsea team and that resulted in his loan departure from the club in August 2023.

Romelu Lukaku fell out with former manager Thomas Tuchel, and that seemingly soiled his relationship with the West London club.

Lukaku spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Inter Milan, and he helped the Nerazzurri win the Coppa Italia alongside reaching the UEFA Champions League final.

The 30-year-old culminated his loan spell at Inter Milan on a poor note, as he produced a “disasterclass” in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Romelu Lukaku was brought on by manager Simone Inzaghi to replace Edin Dzeko in the 57th minute, and he missed several glorious chances in the encounter against Manchester City.

He scored 14 goals and provided 7 assists in 37 appearances for Inter Milan across all competitions last season.

Lukaku banished from Chelsea

Following his return to Chelsea after his loan spell with the Nerazzurri, Lukaku was banished from training with the first team of Chelsea, as he wasn’t in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the 2023/24 season.

The former Manchester United striker was also linked with a move to Juventus, but the move couldn’t materialize due to pushback from supporters of the Italian club.

He also received offers from Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal, but due to a divergence over salary, he rejected their advances.

Romelu Lukaku ultimately chose to reunite with Jose Mourinho, whom he had previously played under at Manchester United and Chelsea.

Cumulatively, Lukaku has made 59 appearances for the Blues, scoring 15 goals and providing 3 assists across all competitions.

Internationally, the former West Bromwich Albion striker has scored 77 goals and provided 16 assists in 110 appearances for Belgium.

He is tied on equal number of international goals with football great Pele, who also scored 77 goals in 92 appearances for Brazil.

Romelu Lukaku will be aiming to increase his international goal tally on October 13, 2023, when Belgium face Austria in a Euro 2024 qualification encounter.

The Red Devils sit 1st in Group F with 13 points, equal number of points with Austria, and the game on October 13, 2023, could decide who tops the group.

Domenico Tedesco’s side also have Sweden to play on Monday, October 16, 2023, another Euro 2024 qualification encounter.
