On Friday night, Chelsea welcomed Fulham to Stamford Bridge for their first game in two weeks. Graham Potter’s team was hoping to get revenge on Fulham who beat Chelsea at Craven Cottage, but that did not happen.

Although Joao Felix is still serving a ban for getting sent off in that game, the blues lineup looked fresh.

Enzo Fernandez received his first taste of Premier League football in a 0-0 draw against Fulham, a visiting neighbor of his new club.

The World Cup-winning midfielder, who cost Chelsea’s American owners £107 million to sign from Benfica, looked at ease and displayed class, sprinkling exquisite passes and correctly timing his challenges.

But after losing to Fulham in the first meeting three weeks prior, the home team was unable to create a cutting edge in front of goal.

The blues however dominated the match with a possession of 67%-33% with 11 total shots but could only manage two shots on target.

The visitors dominated the attack with 4 shots on target from their players including Chelsea’s former player Willian.

Chelsea haven’t been their best self since Tuchel’s dismissal and only managed to score two goals in their last 6 matches.

Kai Havertz came the closest when his chip in the first half hit the post while leaving Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno in a no-man’s land.

Late in the game, David Datro Fofana had a chance to win it, but Tim Ream blocked his attempt.

Willian, a former Chelsea forward, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Andreas Pereira gave Fulham chances of their own, but they will be happy with a point that moves them up to sixth in the standings.

    Chelsea And New Signings

With what was played on Friday night, the blues still remained the same despite signing half a full team.

Though we cannot rule out the fact that the blues showed composure and balance in defense and midfield, they failed to stage a composed attack.

Badashile paired up in defense with Thiago Silva while Reece James who recently came back from injury played alongside Marc Cucurella.

Record-breaking signing Enzo Fernandez was in the midfield with Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount and the Argentine displayed class and was evidently man of the match for Chelsea.

Despite all the signings, Chelsea failed to edge over Fulham who were very composed in their attack and defense throughout the match.
