It is no news that Thomas Tuchel is Bayern Munich’s new manager and one of the first requests he made to the Bayern hierarchy is he wants Anthony Barry as a member of his coaching staff.

The former Chelsea boss had no scruples going for the fireworks against his former bosses at Chelsea. He wants Anthony Barry and that’s all.

There are reports Chelsea have been left disappointed with Thomas Tuchel’s cheeky demand or at best, command for Anthony Barry.

Suffice it to say, Thomas Tuchel’s sack came as a shock to the German tactician. He was left speechless for days after Todd Boehly issued marching orders for him to leave.

What a way to bounce back after being axed in London? You can twig it at how optimistic and relieved he was from his tongue-in-cheek first press conference occasionally punctuated with smiles breaking down his jaw.

Bayern Munich are not doing badly in the German Bundesliga and Champions League. Thomas Tuchel is inheriting a star-studded squad. 100% win in Champions League group stage and a back-to-back win against PSG are no mean feat.

After leaving the Blues, months ago, making a peremptory request of one of the club’s most rated coaching staff is not far from disrespectful and it is not surprising Chelsea are disappointed hitherto.

“‘Arno Michels and Zsolt Low, who have been working with me for over 10 years, will be there. We’re hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at hithert” Thomas Tuchel said while speaking to The Telegraph.

Why is Chelsea irked at Thomas Tuchel’s hunt for Anthony Barry?

According to reports Thomas Tuchel straight-talk rant, demanding for Anthony Barry was not necessary and was disrespectful.

The Blues believe such talks would have been done indoors not in the public with full sense of decency.

Anyways, Thomas Tuchel said how and when he wanted to say it. His straight-talk and candid tongue is said to be one of the reasons he fell out with Chelsea’s hierachy.

Who is Anthony Barry?

Anthony is one of the most highly-rated coaching staff at London working with Chelsea. He has worked with many club coaches and is said to be an envy of them all.

Anthony Barry is one of the most highly-rated assistant managers in the Premier League

In just three years, Anthony Barry has worked with six coaches, including Thomas Tuchel, Roberto Martinez (Portugal head coach) and Graham Potter.

Barry played as a mifielder during his playing days before he switched to coaching. He did not play for any club in English football’s elite division, but has managed to build a great coaching career for himself.

He is currently the assistant manager for Chelsea, working under Graham Potter and assistant manager for Portugal national team, working with Roberto Martinez.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether Chelsea will yield to Thomas Tuchel’s purported peremptory request.

Barry is reportedly still under contract with the Blues and started working at the club when Frank Lampard was the club’s manager. Hence, Bayern are likely to pay Chelsea before Barry leaves for Germany.
