Chelsea have confirmed their 29-man squad for preseason campaign in USA as the Blues prepare for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to start on a promising note as he leads the team to a five-match preseason campaign in the US.
Some players will be hoping to make their Chelsea debut after the club confirmed the list of players that has been drafted for the tour.
There are also big omissions from the squad due to a series of old and recent injury blows in the squad.
Reece James is the biggest name omitted from Chelses preseason squad. The England defender has been grappling with a niggling knee injury since last season but had recovered and was ready for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign after missing out of the 2022 World Cup.
Recently, Chelsea have issued a statement confirming Reece James is a major doubt for the preseason campaign after he complained of knee pains.
He was sent for a scan by the club to examine the injury and also ascertain his chances of joining the preseason squad.
After releasing the squad list for the preseason campaign, Chelsea have confirmed Reece James has been left out of the squad as he recovers from the knee injury but will be allowed to join the squad when he recovers.
Other omissions from the list are Armando Broja, who is continuing in his recovery after missing the entirety of last season due to injury.
Marcus Bettinelli and Wesley Fofana have also been excluded from the squad while the likes of Andrey Santos and Christopher Nkunku will be hoping to make their Chelsea debut as they have been drafted into the squad.
