Chelsea Close To Signing Moises Caicedo As His Brighton Exit Is Confirmed!

Chelsea are close to agreeing personal terms with prolific midfielder, Moises Caicedo as they are on the verge of signing the player this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made the first official contract proposal for the player and are advancing on the deal.

The Blues are reportedly on the table of negotiations with representatives of Moises Caicedo and talks have been advancing between the two parties but personal terms are yet to be agreed but it will be realized soon.

The report adds Chelsea are yet to iron out all details and strings of the deal with focus now majorly on the player side.

Unlike last summer when Caicedo slipped into a bizarre transfer saga that saw him rattle Brighton with a forceful push for an exit, there is a pact on ground, as confirmed by Fabrizio, he will be allowed to leave when the right offer is tabled from suitors.

While there are no talks yet on the table between Brighton and Chelsea, sources close to the London club reveals they are planning to negotiate a £80m fee for Moises Caicedo.

The planned £80m bid by Chelsea represents a sharp rise in the valuation of Moises Caicedo than last summer.

Arsenal tabled an opening £60m bid for Moises Caicedo last summer but was turned down by Brighton.

The Gunners’ made a second improved offer worth £70m but were still turned down by the Seagulls before Moises Caicedo pushed for his exit with the lures of playing for a bigger club.

The Ecuadorian midfield sensation took to his social media handle to publicly called for an exit but met a stiff opposition from the club.

He was temporarily axed off the squad but was reinstated. Caicedo later went on to sign a new Brighton contract, extending his stay with the Seagulls till 2027 after the transfer saga.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Caicedo is still Arsenal’s favorite but Arsenal are now chasing a deal with another young midfield sensation, Declan Rice, leaving Chelsea on pole position to sign Caicedo.

Manchester United are also interested in Caicedo but are yet to make concrete moves with their priorities on a top nine to partner Marcus Rashford in United’s attack next season.

Bundessliga giants Bayern Munich and Premier League champions, Manchester City, who were also linked to Moises Caicedo, are now ruled out of the race.

With Chelsea’s interest, it is still unclear how much Brighton will demand for Caicedo but sources close to the club have revealed the Seagulls will demand an offer in excess of £100m to part ways with the 21-year-old.
