Chelsea have apparently agreed personal terms with Michael Olise and will now hold talks with Crystal Palace over scheduling payments for his release clause, which is said to be about €41 million.
Reports indicate that there is a verbal agreement between both parties, although it is still possible that another club beats the Stamford Bridge side to the signing of the Frenchman.
Manchester United are also understood to be keen on signing Olise, with the Red Devils expected to table an enticing offer for the 22-year-old.
Anyway, Chelsea agreeing personal terms with the winger is a big step forward for the side, as they look to many necessary reinforcements to better their fortunes in the 2024/25 season.
Chelsea Hoping To Convince Michael Olise
Those involved with the negotiation are believed to be putting in efforts to convince Michael Olise to switch to West London and it appears they could achieve a breakthrough in negotiation soon.
Moreover, Chelsea and Manchester United are said to not be the only clubs interested in signing Olise this summer.
It will certainly be difficult for Crystal Palace to keep Michael Olise, who was reportedly on the verge of joining Manchester City in the summer of 2023.
The man, who was born on December 12, 2001, made 19 appearances for the Eagles during the 2023/24 season, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
Olise joined Crystal Palace from Reading on July 8, 2021, for a fee of €9.30 million and he has gone on to make 90 appearances for the Selhurst Park side, scoring 16 goals and providing 25 assists in all competitions.
Olise’s Footballing Traits
Michael Olise, who was born in Hammersmith, London, is known for his dribbling, passing, speed, and quick decision-making ability.
Definitely, he will contribute much to any side he joins in the coming years, given his current abilities and the potential he has.
Olise is relatively young and as such he still has time to develop into a player that will be a handful for defenders.
Where He Plays?
Michael Olise plays primarily as a right winger, but he can also function as an attacking midfielder.
He represented teams like Chelsea and Manchester City during his youth days, before exiting the latter to join Reading in 2017.
Michael Olise International Career
Michael Olise is yet to be capped by any nation at senior level, even though he can represent Nigeria, Algeria, France, and England.
The attacker was born in England to a Nigerian father and a French-Algerian mother.
Market Value, Contract Length, And Salary
His market value is €55 million and his current contract with Crystal Palace runs until June 30, 2027, having penned a four-year contract extension in August 2023.
Olise earns over €100,000 per week at the Selhurst Park club, and all things being equal he will be representing France at the Paris 2024 Olympics, having been included in the country’s provisional squad for the showpiece.
