Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo will have the chance to continue from where he stopped during the weekend when Juventus travels to Hungary to play Ferencvaros in the Champions League.

Ronaldo had during the weekend made an instant impact in the 4-1 win over Spezia when he scored a brace on his return to action after 19 days in COVID-19 isolation.

Cristiano Ronaldo arrives Budapest with Juventus squad for the Champions League tie against Ferencvaros

Ronaldo gave Juve a 2-1 lead three minutes after his introduction before his second and Adrien Rabiot’s strike sorted out a comfortable win for them, having struggled early in the game to contain the hosts.

The five-time world footballer of the year, who has been a mainstay in the team is expected to lead the line as usual for the Old Lady and this could be coming at a god time against the Hungarian champions.

The hosts are expected to be the weeping boys after they were mauled 5-1 by Barcelona. But they were able to secure a comeback draw against Dynamo Kyiv on their turf in their second group game.

The Hungarian side is coming into this tie on the back of two straight draws after they were held at the weekend 1-1 at Fehervar.

Champions League: Juventus can rely on Ronaldo once more against Ferencvaros

Although they lost to Barcelona in their last group game, Juve will look to get back to winning ways in Budapest. They are expected to get the maximum points here even without Alex Sandro and Matthijs de Ligt, who are out due to suspension.

Ronaldo has been known to be the match winner . This was acknowledged by the coach, Andrea Pirlo, who stated that the Portuguese came in to help the team when it mattered most.

Ronaldo has so far scored five goals for the Bianconerri in three games. Such an impressive number means that he can bring in more goals and reduce the pressure on Alvaro Morata, who gave Juve the lead over the weekend and Federico Chiesa, who is settling down gradually into the team.

Apart from that, Juve has more than enough firepower and defensive resolve to have a comfortable ride. With this tie, the Italian giants have an opportunity to score more goals as goal difference and head-to-head might be the decider at the end of the day in the group.

Meanwhile, the skipper, Giorgio Chiellini, who recently returned to training is among the Juventus squad that traveled to Hungary for the tie that will kick off on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.

Meanwhile Merih Demiral and Sami Khedira are still out of action.
