Casemiro Of Manchester United took to his Instagram account to post a vote of thanks to well wishes as he celebrated his birthday.
The midfielder has been an important addition to Erik ten Hag’s new rebuild of Manchester United this season on the field.
On Thursday, the Brazilian took to his page to share his excitement as he marked his 31st birthday, he wrote: “I had a wonderful birthday!! Thanks to my family!! Thanks Old Trafford and @manchesterunited!! And thank you for all the birthday wishes!!”
When the brawl between Manchester United and Barcelona players broke out in the second half of Thursday’s Europa League play-off second leg at Old Trafford, Casemiro went viral.
When Bruno Fernandes struck Frenkie de Jong in the mid-section with a strong kick, the Barcelona players became enraged.
Fernandes kicked the ball towards De Jong from close range after he had just been fouled and was lying on the ground.
Following a fight between the players of the two teams, referee Clement Turpin issued Fernandes a yellow card for his behavior.
One player who most people expected to be there in the middle of the action was strangely nowhere to be found when things heated up.
It turns out that the Brazilian midfielder left the ensuing brawl, apparently unsure of his ability to avoid trouble.
During his nine-year stay in Spain, the former Real Madrid great, who had his fair share of run-ins with Barcelona players, sensibly walked off, much to the amusement of the crowd.
