Erik ten Hag’s team took the lead after just 10 minutes of play thanks to an outrageous Casemiro’s goal.

The Brazilian was spotted by Christian Eriksen with a cleaver pass that got passed Neto to give Manchester United the lead.

Bournemouth came close to scoring in the 27th minute but David De Gea was on ground to stop Dominic Solanke’s attempt.

Manchester United continued pushing forward in the first half to find the second goal but their final touch was lacking.

Two minutes into the second half, Bournemouth had another huge chance when David Brooks got a chance at goal but De Gea came to United’s rescue again.

Gary O’Neill’s men almost got an equaliser five minutes from full time but De Gea again saved Kieffer Moore’s shot.

Manchester United needed this win against Bournemouth after they lost their last two away matches.

Ten Hag’s Reds through Casemiro earned themselves a breathing space in the top four race with Liverpool surging right behind them.

Liverpool on the other hand secured a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa and this means United are not entirely in safe zone.

With two games left to play for Manchester United, today’s win against Bournemouth has placed them in a better place.

United just need to pick up one point from their last two league games to secure their place in the Champions League next season.

Casemiro was Manchester United’s match winner thanks to his incredible acrobatic first half goal.

Aside the goal he scored, his long passes were brilliant and they were key to creating spaces for United.

As always, he was terrific defensively as he made 5 tackles, two interceptions and clearances, and winning 9 duels.

The 31-year-old displayed his importance in United’s team again, covering both ends of the pitch.

Like we mentioned, United just need a point to play Champions League next season but football is sometimes not predictable.

They could lose the remaining two games which will in turn give Liverpool an edge over them.

Jurgen Klopp and his boys haven’t had the best season so far, but they have managed to win 11 of their last matches and drawing one.

The battle of the top four finish is still on and the next few matches will determine who will come out on top.
