Manchester United midfielder Casemiro became a majority shareholder in the Third Tier Spanish club, Marbella FC.
In a picture circulating online, the 32-year-old midfielder held the Marbella FC jersey as he took on the new role of director at the club.
The third-division Spanish Club confirmed this through an official statement, saying, “Marbella Football Club is pleased to announce that Carlos Henrique Casemiro, star of Manchester United, of the Brazilian national team, and five-time winner of the Champions League, becomes a new shareholder of our entity from today.”
“The enthusiasm and commitment that Casemiro shows with the Marbella FC project are evident in his incorporation into the club’s shareholding structure.”
“Not only Marbella, but also the whole city, is proud that an athlete of his global dimension wants to belong to our family.”
Even though Casemiro’s new investment in Marbella is exciting, his joy has been limited due to the snub by the Brazilian national team and the uncertainty of his future at Manchester United.
The midfielder was not included in the Brazilian national team squad ahead of the 2024 Copa America. Also, it was reported that the player is likely to leave Manchester United after his not-too-convincing performances in the 2023-24 season.
His relationship with Erik Ten Hag had gone sour after the manager informed him that he wouldn’t be playing in the 2023-2024 FA Cup final before the commencement of the game. In his absence, United beat Manchester City to win the title.
Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian Pro League giant Al Nassr. Al Nassr are ready to offer the midfielder more than his current wage of £350,000 if he decides to join the Middle East team.
