The Italian manager was formerly Chelsea coach between 2009-2011 and won the Premier League as well as the FA Cup in that period.

Chelsea sacked their recent Manager Graham Potter after several poor performances in the Premier League leaving the team 11th in the league standings.

The Blues hired former Manager Frank Lampard as caretaker manager to oversee the club for the remainder of the season.

Carlo Ancelotti in a press conference just before the first leg of the Champions League encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu, he said: “I am Sad, yes.”

“I have a fantastic memory of this club, of the people that are still working there.”

“I’m a supporter of Chelsea, of course, because I spent two really nice years there.”

Ancelotti who currently has one year left in his contract with Real Madrid said he doesn’t see himself returning to Chelsea as a manager.

Ancelotti continued: “Be back? No, I hope that Lampard is able to do a fantastic job with them.”

The Los Blancos coach confirmed that his wealth of experience compared to Lampard who is just a newbie in the business might not make a difference in the Real Madrid vs Chelsea Champions League clash.

“He has 20 years less experience, but that will not change what will happen in the game,” Ancelotti added.

“He was a fantastic player, extraordinary, he knows very well what can happen in these games but experience, in these matches, I don’t think counts for much.”

“He arrived at the club a week ago, with a lot of players that he already knew, I think he’ll do well in the time that he’s at Chelsea.”

Real Madrid, who won the 2022 Champions League, are also looking to win the trophy this season to make it the sixth time in 10 seasons.

Ancelotti has confirmed that Federico Valverde who had an altercation last weekend with Alex Baena of Villareal is training well amid off field controversies.

Recall we reported that Valverde punched Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena after their La Liga clash on Saturday.

The Uruguayan midfielder has reportedly admitted that he actually assaulted the Villarreal’s player and might face suspension.

Baena has reported the Real Madrid player to the police following the assault after his team won 3-2 over Ancelotti’s men last weekend.

Ancelotti stated that; “he was motivated today (Tuesday), like the rest of them, he trained well, I know him very well.”

“He has a special human quality, extraordinary, and about what happened, I don’t want to speak about it, but I’m sure tomorrow he’ll give everything, as always”.
