Carlo Ancelotti has described Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool team as a perfect machine the German tactician built with a lot of patience. The Everton coach stressed that Klopp was the architect of whatever Liverpool had achieved in recent times.

The veteran Italian coach stated this while reacting to the Premier League title win of the 53-year-old German tactician. On June 25, Klopp became the coach that led Liverpool to their first league title win in 30 years. Their season-long victory was confirmed by Chelsea‘s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Thursday.

Klopp and his boys made a record of being the first Premier League team to win the League in the last 30 years with 7 games left. He also achieved that in style by losing only one match in 31 games on the road to the historic victory.

Klopp achieved this in less than a season after he has helped the club to win the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. The only top title he is yet to win for the club is the FA Cup which they are still on course to winning.

But before all these gloriously days, Klopp has suffered a series of setbacks since he joined the Anfield based club in 2015. He couldn’t qualify the club for the Champions League after the 2015-2016 season but he took the team to the finals of the Europa League which he lost to Seville. That same year, he lost the League Cup to Manchester City.

The owners of the club allowed him to continue with the rebuilding process but he hit the brick wall again in 2018 when he lost the UEFA Champions League to Real Madrid. The reward of his rebuilding process started paying off in the 2018-2019 season when he won the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career and the 6th in Liverpool’s history. On that same season, he lost the Premier League title to Manchester City with just a point difference.

Despite all the accolades Klopp has been getting, this season has not been completely a rosy one. Their attempt to break the unbeaten record of Arsenal in the Premier League was cut short by a lowly rated Watford in a 3-0 bashing in February. They were also knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Atletico Madrid as the Spanish club beat the team home and away to win the round of 16 tie.

Still, 61-year-old Carlo Ancelotti who has had 25 years of coaching experience across the major leagues and some of the biggest clubs in Europe believes that Klopp’s Liverpool is a perfect Machine.

Ancelotti and Klopp have met three times this season, twice in the Premier League and once in the FA Cup. In those meetings, Klopp conquered Ancelotti twice and they drew once. Everton could not reply to the 6 goals Liverpool scored in the three meetings.

“I have a great relationship with [Jurgen] Klopp,” Ancelotti told Sky in Italy. “We already met last week when everything was pretty much already decided, I already congratulated him even before this week’s events.

“But really, Klopp is the architect behind the success of this team, not only in the Premier League – but also for what he managed to do during these five years since his arrival. With a lot of patience, he was able to build a perfect machine.”
