CAF has announced the nominees for the men’s category of the CAF Award for 2023.

The preparations for the Award Gala are gaining momentum as the big day approaches.

The Award Gala is set to take place on December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.

The preliminary list for the different categories was compiled by a panel consisting of CAF Technical Experts, African Football Legends, and selected media representatives from various countries.

The performance of the nominees between November 2022 and September 2023 was taken into consideration during the selection process.

A total of 30 players have been shortlisted for the prestigious African Player of the Year award, while 20 players are in the running for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year.

The categories of Coach of the Year, CAF Award for National Team of the Year, Club of the Year, and CAF Award for Young Player of the Year (for players under 21) each have 10 nominees.

CAF Award included CAF African Goalkeeper of the Year

For the very first time, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has included the CAF African Goalkeeper of the Year Category (Men and Women) in their esteemed event.

This addition aims to honor and celebrate outstanding Players, Officials, and Administrators during the designated period.

This exciting development expands the range of winners recognized at the annual event, finally acknowledging the remarkable performances of shot-stoppers.

A total of 10 players have been nominated for this groundbreaking award.

How winners will be determined

Determining the ultimate winner in each category will be the task of a voting panel, encompassing CAF Technical Committee members, media professionals, Head Coaches, Captains of Member Associations, and clubs participating in the group stages of the Interclub competitions.

Through their votes, they will decide who deserves the prestigious titles.
