The encounter at the American Express Community Stadium ended in a stalemate, as Brighton and Liverpool were inseparable after 90 minutes of grueling football.

It was a keenly contested affair at the Amex Stadium, with both teams showing intensity right from the get-go.

Brighton drew the first blood at their home turf after Alexis Mac Allister lost the ball and Simon Adingra capitalized in style in the 20th minute, curling his effort beyond Allison Becker who was out of his line.

The game had its moment with Liverpool and Robert De Zerbi’s side seeing notable chances to score throughout the 90 minutes.

In the 40th minute, Mohamed Salah equalized for the Reds, following a great passage of play that ended in his path.

Salah converted in style, blasting the ball beyond Bart Verbruggen in goal for Brighton and Hove Albion.

3 minutes later, Mohamed Salah secured his brace in the encounter, scoring a penalty to put Liverpool in front.

Pascal Gross received a poor pass from his goalkeeper and Dominik Szoboszlai came to apply some pressure for Liverpool.

Gross couldn’t stand the pressure from Szoboszlai and he pulled the Hungarian into the box, the referee pointed to the spot, and VAR also reviewed the action.

Salah stepped in style, placing the ball on the left side of the goal, with goalkeeper Verbruggen moving in the opposite direction.

That was a quick turnaround from Jurgen Klopp’s side, and they went into the break ahead and content with the scoreline.

The Reds made a substitution before the commencement of action in the second half, bringing on Ryan Gravenberch for Harvey Elliott.

Liverpool were purposeful in the second 45 and they picked up several goalmouth chances.

Jurgen Klopp’s side should have increased their lead in the 53rd minute, but an attempt from Gravenberch struck the post from close range.

Robert De Zerbi brought on Danny Welbeck for Evan Ferguson in the 60th minute, while Jan Paul van Hecke came on for Igor 3 minutes later.

In the 67th minute, Dominik Szoboszlai was booked for a rash challenge on Solly March.

Luis Diaz also saw a great chance in the 68th minute, but the Colombian couldn’t convert.

Jurgen Klopp made a substitution 5 minutes later, introducing Ibrahima Konate for Joel Matip.

In the 78th minute, Lewis Dunk brought Brighton back into the game, crashing the ball into the net, following a free-kick taken by Solly March.

Andrew Robertson could have saved his team’s blushes, but he drifted away rather than clearing the ball out for safety.

Jurgen Klopp also sent on Joseph Gomez for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 80th minute.

Pedro Porro could have pulled Brighton in front and handed them the victory in the 86th minute, but his effort went well over the bar.

Joseph Gomez was shown a yellow card for a foul on Kaoru Mitoma in the 86th minute of action.

Robert De Zerbi made his last substitution in the game in the 89th minute, bringing on Ansu Fati for Joao Pedro.

Referee Anthony Taylor booked Carlos Baleba in the 4th minute of stoppage time for pulling Ryan Gravenberch, who was looking to kickstart an attack.

However, after regulation time and additional time, both sides exit the turf in East Sussex level pegging.

Liverpool moved up to 3rd following the draw and they would have one eye on the outcome of the clash at the Emirates involving Arsenal and Manchester City, while Brighton and Hove Albion occupy the 6th spot on the table.
