Brentford have announced the signing of Portuguese youth player Fabio Carvalho from Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Carvalho has penned down a five-year deal with an option to extend by one year with the Bees.
Further details of the transfer show Liverpool will receive £27.5 million for the 21-year-old midfielder. Also included in the transfer deal is a 17.5% sell-on clause that will be paid to Liverpool should the Bees sell the player in the future.
Brentford announced the signing of the English attacking sensation in a statement on the club’s website.
“We’re delighted to confirm the arrival of Fábio Carvalho on an initial five-year deal from Liverpool,” the statement reads.
Following the exit of players like Adrian, Ramsey, and Matip, Carvalho has been the latest player to leave the Meyerside-based team. The 21-year-old will be Brentford’s 3rd signing of the season, joining the likes of Igor Thiago and Benjamin Frederick.
Carvalho’s move to Liverpool is coming at the back of previous reports that the Reds were not going to sell him permanently.
