Brentford manager, Thomas Frank has dropped an update on the future of English striker Ivan Toney a few days before the start of the Premier League season.
The manager believes the player will stay beyond this season, even though there is interest in the player from the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
In his latest interview with SkySports, he said, “There has been a lot of talk about Ivan for many years, but let’s just say over the last six months about whether he will leave this summer.”
“So far, he is still a Brentford player, so I think we are getting closer and closer to him remaining a Brentford player.”
“I am getting more and more excited because he is a top player, and I love working with Ivan. We have a fantastic relationship. That’s what I think. He will be a Brentford player after the 1st of September.”
It has been reported that Saudi Arabia’s Giants, Al-Ahli, have offered the English international a whopping salary of €18 million annually if he considers a move to the club.
Even though there is likely to be an offer from the Saudi Arabian side, Toney’s major focus has been to join one of the top Premier League clubs.
This lucrative proposal for the England striker underscores Saudi Arabia’s Pro League ambitions to boost their league with more European talent.
Brentford have lowered their asking price for the football star from £60 million to £30 million. This indicates a willingness to accept any offer to avoid the risk of losing the player for free when his contract expires.
