Championship club, Brentford has on Wednesday recorded a 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Emirate Stadium in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

The Gunners had on Saturday mauled Charlton 6-0 with Hatrick from Eddie Nketia while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazete also found the back of the net.

Arsenal got its first chance at goal in the game the promotion-chasing Bees when Nicolas Pepe swung in a cross from the right, but Bukayo Saka’s contact was not substantial enough to find the net. Joe Willock was also closed to scoring but couldn’t get the right contact to convert from Kieran Tierney’s cross.

Aubameyang got his shot on target when he cut in from the left before stinging the palms of the Brentford goalkeeper. Arsenal drew the first blood when they got in front five minutes before the interval, with Willock cooly slotting in a low ball across the edge of the box. Pepe would have doubled Arsenal’s lead, but his shot hit the post with seconds remaining of the first half.

Brentford left it late against Arsenal

In the second half, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta introduced David Luiz, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil, and Alexandre Lacazette.

Shandon Baptiste got Brentford their first shot on target in the game, which was pulled away by Leno before Shkodran Mustafi was closed to doubling Gunners’ lead at the other end with a header from a corner.

The visitors later restored parity through Tarique Fosu with about 20 minutes to end the action through a powerful rising strike, which went past Emi Martinez.

Arsenal regained the lead again straight away, with a neat swivel from Lacazette that beat goalkeeper Luke Daniels.

The visitors restored parity shortly after Lacazette was robbed of possession in his half, and Halil Dervisoglu was sent through to send a low strike inside the far post. They got the winning goal a few minutes before the final whistle when Baptiste scored the second after Brentford forced a turnover in possession.

Arsenal returns to the Premier League on June 17 to face Manchester City.
