The Brazilian team went home after the World Cup quarter-final loss to Croatia.

Tite’s Brazil was the favorite to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup, but that dream was thwarted on Friday, December 9 when they lost in the quarterfinals to Croatia.

The clash ended in a 1-1 tie at the end of extra time before Croatia eventually defeated giant Brazil in the penalty shootout to move on to the final four while Brazil was forced out of the tournament.

Coach Tite announced his resignation shortly after his team’s exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which saw them lose 4-2 on penalties following their 1-1 draw with Croatia in regular time.

Meanwhile, the 61-year-old Tite had previously revealed his intention to quit his job after the 2022 World Cup tournament and has done exactly what he had said after Brazil’s exit from the tournament.

“It is a painful defeat but I go in peace. It is the end of a cycle,” he said.
“I already said that a year and a half ago. I didn’t come here to win and then turn around and say I was going to stay. People who know me know that.”

The 61-year-old Tite first took over the mantle as Brazil head coach in 2016, making the Qatar tournament his sixth year in service.

Tite guided Seleção to the quarter-finals at Russia 2018 World Cup, where Brazil lost 2-1 to Belgium, but clinched the Copa America trophy in 2019 after defeating Peru 3-1 in the final.

Coach Tite came close to his second trophy with the Brazilian team in 2021, but lost in a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Argentina in the Copa America final.

However, in the Qatar World Cup, Tite led Brazil to top Group G in the group stage trampling on Switzerland, Cameroon, and Serbia.

The Seleção humiliated South Korea in a 4-1 effortless victory which gave many the impression that Brazil would win the World Cup.

Unfortunately, the Brazilians have gone home and their boss Tite has called it quits after Croatia dashed their World Cup ambitions.

Coach Tite became the sixth head coach to quit his managerial duties at the Qatar 2022 World Cup tournament, after sticking to his promise to resign at the end of the World Cup competition.

The Brazilian former head coach Tite joined Gerardo Martino (Mexico), Otto Addo (Ghana), Roberto Martinez (Belgium), Paulo Bento (Korea Republic), and Luis Enrique (Spain) as the sixth manager to call it quits before the end of the Qatar World Cup tournament.
