Bournemouth To Punish Kanye West By Not Playing His Music

Premier League club, Bournemouth will stop playing the song of American rapper Kanye West “Power” at Vitality Stadium from this season.

The Bournemouth decision came after the Grammy Award winner Kanye West, who changed his name to “Ye” recently, posted an anti-Semitic comments on Twitter.

Bournemouth have been using it for a number of years, even before coming to the Premier League, but they won’t play the song when they face Tottenham on October 29, 2022.

What did Kanye West say?

Earlier in October 2022 Kanye West tweeted that he was “going death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE”. When the comment which has since been deleted started becoming a scandal, the American rapper came out to insist that he wasn’t “Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also”.

Kanye West added: “You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda”.

The rapper made the antisemitic comments after accusing record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by “the Jewish people” in a post on Instagram.

Kanye West’s comments got him into a lot of trouble. Different organizations with whom he signed lucrative deals have cut ties with him, and he is more likely to lose more deals before this year runs out.

Kanye West lost billions of dollars as a result of Adidas’ decision to end their collaboration with him. Without the Adidas deal, Forbes estimates that his net worth has dropped to $400 million.

The biggest blow came when Adidas ended a partnership with West that was expected to generate $1.7 billion in sales and $191 million in royalties.

Adidas’ decision came after they were pressured to end the Partnership. Even though he made Anti Semitic comments, Kanye West went online to say Adidas cannot end their partnership with him.

A day after Adidas dumped Kanye West, fitness startup Peloton barred his music from playing.

The rapper showed up unannounced to pitch his Yeezy brand on Wednesday and Skechers headquarters hauled Kanye West out shamefully.

Gap and Foot Locker removed Yeezy Products from their stores. The company gave a statement that they don’t want to deal with any hate speech or racism.

They stated that they wouldn’t accept the comment made by Kanye West, so he doesn’t deserve to partner with them again.

Gap also went ahead and shut down Kanye West’s website, redirecting to the Gap website.

US Bank JP Morgan ended its relationship with Kanye West and his clothing line. Fashion powerhouse, Balenciaga cut ties with the controversial musician.

Both the talent agency CAA and the fashion magazine Vogue declined to represent him going forward.

After the musician’s documentary “Donda” was finished, the production studio MRC severed their relationship. MRC had asked several business entities to take action against Kanye West even after canceling the documentary.
