Sancho and Mason Greenwood have been on short-term loan exits in mid-season following their dwindling fortunes at the Old Trafford outfit.
Jadon Sancho was loaned to Borussia Dortmund after he fell out with United manager Erik ten Hag which led to a public spat.
United loaned Mason Greenwood to Getafe to have him restart his career away from agitations by some fans not to have him return to the club after his assault scandal.
Greenwood is due back to Manchester United with his future now a big subject in the rumor mills.
Sancho will also be due back to Manchester United after he plays the Champions League final for Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid at Wembley on June 1, 2024.
Now, German outlets report Dortmund are interested in a move for Mason Greenwood this summer who could replace Jadon Sancho as another former Man United player in the squad.
Speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League final clash with Real Madrid, Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl, refused to rule out a move for Greenwood.
‘I don’t want to talk about any rumors at the moment because it doesn’t make sense. Let’s play the final on Saturday first,’ Kehl said.
‘Of course, we have plans for next season and we have discussed many scenarios but let’s focus on Saturday and then we’ll see how we move on,’ said Kehl.
Futballnews understands Borussia Dortmund wanted to keep Jadon Sancho on a permanent contract but are yet to broker a deal with United.
They are ready for another loan move for Greenwood but are likely to suffer a setback with United’s intent on a permanent exit solution for the player.
Both Greenwood and Sancho will be due back to Old Trafford on June 30 with the club open to a permanent exit of the duo as Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains intent on his summer overhaul of the team.
