Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly planning an audacious move to sign Manchester City star Bernardo Silva this summer even though the Catalan club is having a huge financial situation.

The Catalan giants are trying to revamp their team, and a number of players have been considered, including Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich and Raphinha of Leeds.

The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, and Bernardo Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes, have reportedly discussed a plan to close the transfer deal since Silva is willing to leave Man City.

According to reports, Bernardo Silva wants to play for Barcelona and would desire a move to Spain this summer. However, the Premier League champions are likely to demand a fee of around £85 million, which would make it difficult for Barca to complete a standalone deal.

The Spanish giants want to propose making a modest first payment followed by numerous installments spaced out over the following few seasons.

It will be interesting to see whether Barcelona can push Manchester City to make a deal of this nature and if City would be willing to let go of the 27-year-old.

The sale of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong by Barcelona, who has been strongly linked to Manchester United, would surely be a requirement for any deal including that of Bernardo Silva.

Frenkie de Jong has been approached by Manchester United but the Blaugrana rejected the offer because the teams have not reached an agreement about the midfielder’s value. De Jong is anticipated to be sold by Barcelona for approximately £70 million, putting United squarely in the driver’s seat to sign the Dutchman.

Barcelona’s starting lineup for the upcoming season has already produced a lot of speculation, but it is obvious that the team is now concentrating on improving their attack following the free-transfer addition of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

As Barça prepares for a significant summer shake-up, the futures of De Jong’s international teammate Memphis Depay and senior defender Gerard Pique are also uncertain. Barça are also interested in adding Leeds United winger Raphinha to their squad this summer.

However, they will have to face competition from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain even though the winger wants to play for them next season.

Raphinha is already out of Leeds United’s traveling squad for their pre-season tour because he wants to stay back and complete his transfer to Barcelona this summer. The Brazilian will be the second senior player to leave Leeds United after the departure of Kalvin Philips to Manchester City.
