Manchester United left-back, Benjamin Mendy has more rape cases to answer as a new complaint has emerged that he raped a victim in July 2021.
This has increased the number of rape allegations hanging on Benjamin Mendy‘s neck to seven in total. He has officially been charged with the seventh count of rape.
Reports confirmed that the police in Manchester received a complaint last week that the 27-year-old French defender raped a victim in July this year but the police decided to prevent the media from reporting it.
The restriction on the complaint was lifted earlier today, December 22, after Benjamin Mendy appeared before the Chester Crown Court.
As it stands, Mendy allegedly committed three counts of rape on October 11, 2020, and allegedly committed sexual assault on January 2, 2021.
On July 24, 2021, the Manchester City defender committed one count of rape (which is the latest count added to his series of charges). While on August 23, 2021, Mendy committed two counts of rape.

So far, the offenses the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner committed have increased to eight in all. He allegedly committed these offenses on five different women. Mendy committed seven counts of rape on four different women which means that he allegedly raped some of the women multiple times.
Though the Manchester City defender has committed some of these offenses since the 2020-2021 season, it was in August this year that the police finally arrested him in connection with the crimes.
The police arrested the France international on August 26, 2021, after he has made one appearance in the 2021-2022 Premier League season.
Benjamin Mendy was arrested alongside his co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie of Eccles, Greater Manchester. Though Saha was accused of a series of sex crimes against young women, he was granted bail but the footballer was remanded into custody at HMP Altcourse.

The footballer who Manchester City suspended since he was arrested for sexual crimes in August, has been in the custody since his arrest as the court refused to grant him bail.

After he and Saha appeared before the Chester Crown Court earlier on Wednesday for a session that lasted for 40 minutes, the court remanded them into custody at HMP Altcourse.

They are expected to remain in custody until their trial commences next year. Initially, their trial was scheduled to commence in January 2022. But latest developments have forced the court to postpone the commencement of the trial to a future date in 2022.
