A 17-year-old woman who accused Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy, of sexual assault had denied ever having sex with Jack Grealish.
At a party at Mendy’s property in Prestbury, Cheshire, in August 2021, England international, Grealish, 27, was there. The adolescent complainant claimed Mendy, 28, and co-accused Louis Saha Matturie, 41, attacked her.
At the Chester Crown Court, Mendy and Matturie are on trial for several sex offenses against a number of young ladies.
The 17-year-old told police that a 23-year-old woman, who also claimed that Matturie raped her, told her on the night she had sex with Grealish, the court had previously heard.
She said that Matturie also told her that the woman had “been together” with the former Aston Villa winger during additional police interviews on Monday.
She added that when she arrived at the party earlier in a cab that was followed by a Range Rover in which Grealish was a passenger, three or four of Grealish’s pals from Birmingham attended.
The complainant said that his companions were “very polite” and “pretty normal,” and that their chats lacked “anything provocative or odd.”
Grealish continued to praise her “beautiful eyes” as she entered the mansion’s pool and he left.
She said she replied: “Thank you.” Later she saw Grealish “fast asleep” in the house.
She told detectives: “I remember him being quite drunk.”
The woman said she had not previously met Grealish and only “knew of him just off the TV”.
She claimed that neither the football player nor his friends did anything to make her feel uneasy.
Police received a confirmation from her that she had no sexual interaction with Grealish.
The sleuth enquired: “Have you since that night told anybody if you had any physical contact with him?”
“No,” she replied.
The woman had received an invitation from Saha to attend a Manchester City game from a private box, the court heard.
She had previously stated that Saha had the impression of being Mendy’s personal assistant or “some kind of entourage, a bodyguard.”
Benjamin Mendy was referred to as “the worst player on the team… he goes out too much” in a text message with a buddy.
“He made us lose against Tottenham.”
Mendy, according to the prosecution, is a “predator” who “made the pursuit of women for sex into a game.”
His pal and “fixer,” Matturie, allegedly had the responsibility of locating young women for sex.
Mendy contests the allegations of six young women being sexually assaulted, one attempted rape, and seven cases of rape.
Matturie, of Eccles, Salford, denies three counts of sexual assault and six counts of rape involving seven young women.
Both men assert that any sexual activity with women or girls that did occur was consensual.
The trial was postponed until early Tuesday.
