England’s soccer stars Ben Chilwell and Kieran Trippier have withdrawn from the country’s senior soccer team ahead of the country’s match against Denmark at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, October 14.

The coach of England’s soccer team, Gareth Southgate had no choice than to let Ben Chilwell leave the squad because of an injury. Recall that he missed England’s friendly match against Wales on October 8, and England’s match against Belgium on October 11 because he attended a party which was a breach of coronavirus rules in Britain and the Three Lions.

The Chelsea’s 23-year-old left-back joined his national team-mate and Borussia Dortmund‘s star at Tammy Abraham’s surprised Birthday party last weekend. This led to the suspension of the three players from England’s friendly match against Wales which England won 3-0.

However, when the players were allowed to return to the team, Ben Chilwell was not able to return due to an undisclosed illness. Since he will miss Wednesday’s match against Denmark, the left-back has failed to increase his national team appearance from 11 to 14 as it was expected at the commencement of the international break.

On the other hand, Kieran Trippier was granted permission to leave England national team based on an undisclosed personal reason. The 30-year-old Atletico Madrid right-back captained England in the friendly match against Wales.

Trippier came in as a substitute in England 2-1 victory over Belgium on October 11. He will now have to miss the Denmark game which would make his national team appearance tally to remain 23.

The absence of Ben Chilwell and Kieran Trippier who are defensive-minded left and right-backs in England’s squad will leave Southgate with little or no option than to rely on Arsenal’s duo Bukayo Saka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles to cover up for the two defenders.

Ben Chilwell and Kieran Trippier could be available for England’s subsequent UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium and Iceland on November 15 and 18 respectively.

England is currently topping the Nations League group 2, league 1 table with 7 points after winning two matches and drawing one out of three. The country is closely followed on the group 2 table by Belgium that has garnered 6 points in three games.
