Bayern Munich will become the champions of the German Bundesliga for the 10th time in a row if they beat Borussia Dortmund on April 23, 2022.

Bayern Munich are the most successful club in Germany and one of the most successful football club in the world. The German football club which was established on February 27, 1900, has won a whopping 31 German Bundesliga titles in the history of the league. No other German club has been so successful.

Since the 2012-2013 German Bundesliga title, Bayern have been the sole winner of the German Bundesliga title. This means that in the last 10 years, Bayern have won the league title for a record nine consecutive seasons.

In the 2021-2022 season, Bayern have won 23 games in the German Bundesliga and have recorded 3 draws and four defeats in 30 league games.

Their superb form has fetched them 72 points which have cemented their place at the top of the league table. In terms of goals, the German Bundesliga giants have scored a whopping 89 goals and conceded just 29 goals.

Bayern have been so superb that they are currently topping the second-placed Borussia Dortmund with 9 points with 27 goals difference more than Dortmund.

As it stands, Bayern Munich have four league games to play in the 2021-2022 German Bundesliga. After Bayern defeated Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday, April 17, 2022, it became clear that Dortmund can only overtake Bayern if Dortmund win the remaining four league games and Bayern lose the remaining four league games.

This is so because the remaining four league games have the capacity of gifting the clubs a total number of 12 points in four wins. So, if Bayern beat Dortmund on April 23, at 17:30, Bayern will have 75 points, 12 points above second-placed Dortmund.

After Saturday’s game, Bayern and Dortmund would have just three league games to play before the season ends. The three games can gift clubs just 9 points which means that if Bayern lose the last three games, the club will still win the title with three points above the second-place team after their 34th league game on May 24 which is against Wolfsburg.

Hence, a win over Dortmund on Saturday, April 23, will automatically confirm Bayern Munich the Champions of the German Bundesliga for the 10th time in a row and the 32nd time in the history of the club.

Bayern Munich might win the league and lose their club’s talisman, Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich might win the league and lose their club's talisman, Robert Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski led Bayern Munich to win their 6th UEFA Champions League title in 2020.

Bayern Munich could be declared Champions of the German Bundesliga in May and end up losing the club’s talisman, Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski who have been playing for Bayern since July 1, 2014, has until June 30, 2023, before his current contract with the German giants expires.

Though Bayern had stressed that they are not ready to allow the 33-year-old Polish striker to go, FC Barcelona are still making plans to sign the Poland international.

Unfortunately for Bayern, Lewandowski who has scored 47 goals and provided 6 assists in 42 games so far this season said he is willing to try another adventure. He has even gone as far as saying he wishes to play for Real Madrid or FC Barcelona before his retirement.

Hence, fans of Bayern who don’t want Lewandowski to leave the German club are anxiously waiting to see how the coming summer transfer window will end. His current transfer market value is €50 million.
