After Bayern Munich and Real Madrid eliminated the English teams from the Champions League, they will face themselves in the semi-finals of the tournament at Allianz Arena.

The first leg of the match is expected to happen on April 30, 2024, in Germany.

The Bayern Munich side eliminated Arsenal on 3-2 aggregate, and Real Madrid defeated the reigning Champions of Europe, Manchester City, via penalty shootout.

Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid Preview

The Champions League is the only saving grace for Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel this season, after the club failed to win the German Bundesliga title, got defeated in the German Super Cup by RB Leipzig, and were dumped out of the DFB Pokal.

Bayern Munich couldn’t replicate the 5-1 success over Arsenal that happened in 2017, but they were able to dump Arsenal out of the Champions League courtesy of a second-half header by Joshua Kimmich.

The narrow victory against Arsenal represented the second victory in a four-match winning sequence for the Thomas Tuchel side.

By prolonging their perfect streak against Arsenal in the Champions League, a first semi-final since winning the tournament in 2019-20 awaits them.

Bayern Munich attacker Harry Kane, who played a prominent role in their Champions League success this season, will be looking forward to helping his team secure a win over Real Madrid.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, were only able to eliminate Manchester City via penalty shootout, with Andriy Lunin being the penalty hero for Real Madrid.

Lunin made a bold decision not to dive for the Bernardo Silva penalty and he saved it. The Ukrainian also excellently saved Mateo Kovacic’s penalty.

The Real Madrid side are on the verge of capturing the La Liga title ahead of Barcelona. They defeated Real Sociedad courtesy of a goal from the young Turkish Arda Guler.

The Real Madrid side have an 18-match unbeaten record to protect when they visit Bayern Munich.

In addition, the Real Madrid side will play the semi-finals without losing a single match in the 2023–24 Champions League tournament.
