The transfer merry-go-round regarding the future of Harry Kane might be nearing its end as Bayern Munich are expected to table about £95 million for the Englishman.
Negotiations were in progress on Monday, August 7, 2023, and the Bavarian giants have been informed that Kane wants the deal to be completed before the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Bayern Munich last sent in a bid of about £86 million, with the inclusion of add-ons and it was subsequently rejected by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
However, negotiations have continued due to Bayern Munich’s dire need for a striker as they look to compete squarely on all fronts next season.
The new offer from the Bundesliga champions is expected to be made within the next 24 hours.
Harry Kane transfer to Bayern Munich
Reports earlier indicated that Daniel Levy was requesting about £120 million from any club looking to acquire the services of Harry Kane.
However, he could accept a transfer fee close to £100 million, in order not to risk losing the Englishman for free next summer.
Harry Kane has made 435 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 280 goals and providing 64 assists across all competitions.
The England international is Spurs highest goalscorer and he is also 47 goals behind Premier League top-scorer Alan Shearer.
If he does exit the English top-flight league in search of trophies, he might be missing out on the chance of becoming the all-time goal machine in Premier League history.
Kane has also made his presence felt in preseason for Spurs as he scored 4 goals in Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-1 demolition of Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Spurs fans don’t want to lose Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur supporters in customary manner do not want to lose their goal-poacher but it is unknown what the future holds.
Harry Kane was also linked with a possible move to Manchester United, however, Daniel Levy preferred a move outside of England for the Englishman.
Spurs’ disposition towards the Red Devils resulted in the Manchester based club opting to sign Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Harry Kane made 49 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 32 goals and providing 5 assists across all competitions.
Kane has in the past made several remonstrations and gestures indicating his desire to leave Spurs, but he has often faced a brick wall regarding that.
In 2021, in a bid to force a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, Kane refused to show up at the training ground of the English club during preseason.
Due to missing training, he was fined by the club and at the end of the 2021/22 transfer window, Spurs and Harry Kane ironed out their differences.
The Englishman’s contract with the Lilywhites expires in June 2024, but he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club from January 2024.
