Bayern Munich have tabled their first bid for a highly-rated Premier League forward as they ramp up attempts to fortify the Bavarians squad ahead of next season’s campaign.
Futballnews understands Bayern Munich’s new manager Vincent Kompany is set for his hierarchy-backed overhaul at the Bundesliga giants. Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Matthijs de Ligt, Kingsley Coman, and Noussair Mazraoui are listed among the names that could be axed this summer.
With the imminent overhaul in sight, Kompany has been backed by the club to make some signings this summer and beef up the squad. Having played and managed in the English top-flight, the former Burnley is eyeing some crop of experienced players to join him in the German top-flight.
He was linked to a move to Manchester United midfield veteran Bruno Fernandes, who has two years left on his United contract. Also on the radar of the former Manchester City player is his former Manchester City teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko of Arsenal. The 38-year-old reportedly wants Zinchenko in his Bayern Munich defence with De Ligt likely to be shown the exit door.
Another Premier League star that has been on the radar of Kompany is Fulham’s prolific midfielder Joao Paulinha.
According to The Mail, Kompany has led Bayern to table a £30m in their move to speed up proceedings for the player.
The Bavarian’s £30m offer for Paulinha is way below Fulham’s valuation. The Cottagers reportedly want £75m for the player. Meanwhile, it is the second time the Bundesliga giants have tabled an offer for Paulinha. Under former manager Thomas Tuchel, the club submitted a £60m offer for the Portuguese but were turned down.
While Fulham are open to Paulinha’s exit, it is understood the club are less likely to stoop down to a £30m offer for the player, hence the Bavarians’ advances are set to be turned down.
Since joining Fulham in 2022 from Porto, Paulinha has been key to the Cottagers’ squad. He has made 79 appearances, scoring 8 goals and is regarded as one the best midfielders in the Premier League.
He is reportedly open to a Bayern Munich move should the club reach agreement with Fulham for a deal.
