Bayern Munich are on the verge of completing the signing of Michael Olise after the winger opted to join the Bundesliga giants.

Reports indicate that Chelsea, Newcastle United, and the Bavarian giants have all contacted Crystal Palace earlier in June 2024 to signify their interest in the Frenchman.

There were initial worries that it would be difficult to broker a deal to secure Olise’s services, with his release clause set at £60 million.

A potential deal will also include percentages of any transfer fee due to Crystal Palace, the player, and his former club Reading.

Chelsea Worried About Overall Cost Of Transfer Hence Subsequent Decision To Lay Back

Premier League giants Chelsea are believed to have been majorly concerned about the overall cost of the deal.

The Blues made attempts to secure the services of Olise for a fee of about £35 million last summer, but their move was unsuccessful despite the belief that they had activated the attacker’s release clause.

Michael Olise’s Crystal Palace Contract Details

Michael Olise penned a new four-year deal at Selhurst Park on August 17, 2023, with his current contract running until June 30, 2027.

Olise’s stock has continued to rise, with the midfielder selected in Thierry Henry’s French squad for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics that will be hosted by Paris, France.

The tournament will commence on Friday, July 26, 2024, and it will be on until Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Michael Olise netted 10 goals in 19 appearances for Crystal Palace in the 2023/24 season, having been absent from several games due to a hamstring injury.

Manchester United’s Pursuit Of Michael Olise?

It is understood that Manchester United were also previously interested in getting the services of the 22-year-old, however, they have turned their attention elsewhere, as they are focusing on targets in other positions.

Crystal Palace are set to make a heavy profit on Olise, having signed him from Reading for a fee of about £8 million.

If he is sold for basically his release clause, the Eagles would have made about 7 and a half times the amount Michael Olise was acquired for.

Olise’s current market value is £55 million and he is earning £100,000 per week at Crystal Palace.
