The former Arsenal star took a trip to Paris to attend a fashion event organized in the City of Paris in France.

The 27-year-old featured in Bayern Munich’s opening Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig after the World Cup break, but has now been axed off the starting lineup against Eintract Frankfurt due to the fashion week controversy.

The Bavarians settled for a disappointing 1-1 draw in the game against RB Leipzig. Again, they dropped points at home against Cologne, and nearly surrender all three points at Allianz Arena after Cologne held on to a narrow 1-0 lead from the first till the 90th minute.

Serge Gnabry started the game against Cologne, but was subbed off at half time, with French star Kingsley Coman replacing him.

Bayern Munich are now bracing up to take on Eintract Frankfurt in another Bundesliga clash as they search for a first win after the World Cup break and keep off the pressure from Union Berlin.

According to reports, Serge Gnabry will be dropped to the bench in the match against Eintract Frankfurt after he attended the fashion week in Paris – a move that has angered the club’s hierachy.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic slammed Serge Gnabry following his fashion week appearance.

Salihamidzic describes Serge Gnabry fashion week appearance as “amateurish,” saying the former Berlin star went messing around because he was given a day off.

Salihamidzic contended Serge Gnabry would have made other better use of his day off rather than choosing to take a trip to Paris for the fashion week.

“That is amateurish. It’s exactly what I don’t like”, he stressed.

“It’s not Bayern Munich to go messing around when you have a day off.

“A day off is meant to be for resting yourself so that you can push on in the next game, Salihamidzic said.

While Serge Gnabry’s move have flared tempers among other members of the Bayern Munich hierarchy, Julian Nagelsmann appears to take a less restrictive stand on Serge Gnabry insisting he did not take Gnabry off against Cologne due to the fashion week controversy.

However, Nagelsmann did confirm the former Arsenal man will be dropped to the bench in the game against Eintract Frankfurt due to his form.

The Bayern head coach said Serge Gnabry had the chance to show a reaction against Koln, but was not outstanding hence the Paris trip is not a factor in his current form with the club.

“We had a good chat and I explained him my view of things and I told him the substitution against Koln was not because of the Paris trip but performance-related”, the coach noted.

“We have a player, [Kingsley Coman], on the bench and he has done really well and he will start tomorrow.”

Gnabry left Arsenal for Werder Bremen in 2016 before going on to join Bayern a year later. He has scored 10 goals and provided a further 11 assists in 25 games so far this season.

The Bavarians are top of the Bundesliga table, but their lead has been cut to just three points following their back-to-back draws.

Union Berlin have the chance to move level on points with Bayern if they can beat Hertha Berlin on Saturday afternoon, before Bayern host Frankfurt.
