The Netherlands defender has made it clear that he wants to leave the Italian Serie A giants because of their recent poor performance.

Several big clubs across Europe have shown interest in signing him this summer but the Dutchman is reportedly interested in joining Bayern Munich. Oliver Kahn claimed that the former Ajax defender is keen to continue his career with the German champions and he has been on their radar for some weeks.

But according to multiple reports, the two clubs met last week for a possible switch and it is becoming more likely that Matthijs de Ligt will be a Bayern Munich player by next season.

The Bayern Munich CEO told Blickpunkt Sport on Saturday that the club has reached out to both Juventus and Matthijs de Ligt and the defender is interested to come to Germany.

Oliver Kahn added that they will continue their discussions with Juventus next week and then see how it goes. However, the 22-year-old defender has a whopping release clause of over £100 million but the Serie A giants are ready to accept an offer of around £76million for the Dutchman.

Chelsea also showed interest in signing Matthijs de Ligt but the player was reluctant to switch to England.

The Blues are currently working to strengthen their defense area before the start of next season and have shown interest in a lot of top defenders. But they have finally secured the services of Napoli defender and captain Kalidou Koulibaly and could add another defender.

Juventus are also searching for a replacement for Matthijs de Ligt if he eventually leaves this summer and they reached out to Napoli for the services of Kalidou Koulibaly but they will have to go for another option. It is believed that they will accept Bayern Munich’s offer of £51million plus bonuses for their top defender.

Bayern Munich is currently his favorite destination and further progress on the transfer will be made soon. The German Bundesliga champions have also announced that they have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland captain who made it known that he doesn’t want to play for Bayern Munich again is finally set to join the Spanish giants. Robert Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich eight years ago and went ahead to become their highest goal scorer, but the just one year left in his contract with the club, he believes that his time with them is over.
