Joan Laporta has opined that Kylian Mbappe will be a bone in the throat of Real Madrid when he moves to the club.
The president of Barcelona has said that the Frenchman will cause problems for Los Blancos, bringing disunity to the Spanish giants and distorting their flow.
Laporta made this assertion when asked if he is envious of Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.
Kylian Mbappe is edging closer to the end of his time at Paris Saint Germain, and he apparently has his eyes on bigger ambitions at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappe has scored 38 goals and provided 8 assists in 37 appearances this season, but his future appears to already be away from Paris.
Joan Laporta on Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid
Joan Laporta, whose side does not have the financial wherewithal to sign Kylian Mbappe, feels that the arrival of the 25-year-old will be a self-destruct button for Real Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Laporta said:
“There they have a problem. They have to sell a player, right? Because they are not both going to play in the same place. And speaking of the numbers involved in the deal, this distorts the locker room for sure.”
Joan Laporta’s statement might be said to be shrouded in jealousy, however, only Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid can show us how the relationship will work out.
Mbappe is a player admired by many clubs across the globe, and he is arguably the best player in football currently.
