Recall that Mourinho’s army fell flat before the defending champions, goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Roberto Firmino and Senegal’s Sadio Mane ensured a resounding victory against Spurs- having a place in the top four.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s goal at the 49th minute could not turn things around for Spurs- who are placed sixth on the Premier League table.

Reports gathered that Aurier was in fury when the Portuguese coach faulted him as regards a goal in the first half of the game. However other players like, Eric Dier and Joe Rodon were also faulted on the role on their goal deficit.

Due to the tense exchange of words between the Ivorian and Mourinho, the coach changed him for Harry Winks in the second half leading him to exit the stadium.

Liverpool capitalized on the crises- the burst up and the Harry Kane injury plus a tactical change by the coach in the press room- to become the victor in the game.

“It was the mood of the team that was difficult to accept you are losing,” he said while addressing the issue.

“It’s difficult to accept the nature of the goal because the goal is in some aspects a replica of the chance they had in the first minute. So it’s, of course, a mood where people are not happy.” He added.

Tottenham will face Brighton & Hove Albion next Sunday, hoping to come back to winning ways. They are set to face a great test against Chelsea on February 4.
