Spanish giant Athletic Bilbao have resigned Ruiz de Galarreta from Real Mallorca on a free transfer.
The move was confirmed by Real Mallorca manager Javier Aguirre who claimed one of his superstars will be leaving the club at the end of the summer on free transfer.
He praised the midfielder for his character saying: ”Galarreta is an extraordinary boy, an educated and very correct boy, who always adds to the dressing room.
“As a player, I was pleasantly surprised and he caught my attention. It is a luxury to have him and enjoy him and it is a pity that he is going to leave because he is a footballer who is making a leap in quality for the squad.”
The Real Mallorca manager continued saying: ”Next season he will be close to home, in the team he loves where he came from.
“It is a decision that hurts my soul and that I think will also affect all the Mallorcanismo, but I think he is a perfect player for Los Leones, that is the truth. Inigo deserves our respect, he is a boy we are going to miss.”
The player joined the Athletic Bilbao youth team in 2003 and left in 2016 to join Mirandes on loan. His subsequent seasons were spent on loan with Real Zaragoza and Leganes
He joined Real Mallorca in 2019. Since joining the club, Ruiz de Galarreta has been an exceptional player. The midfielder made 30 appearances for the team last season.
He made a total of 81 appearances without a goal for Real Mallorca.
