    AS Roma have officially signed World Cup winner Leandro Paredes from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal.

    According to Fabrizio Romano, the 29-year-old Argentine midfielder has agreed to a two-year contract and has completed all necessary paperwork.

    Les Parisiens deemed the Argentine player surplus to requirements, resulting in his loan to Juventus during the previous season.

    Following the rather inconsistent loan spell in Turin with Juventus, Leandro Paredes returned to Paris at the beginning of the summer transfer window but his situation remained unchanged.

    Due to consistently being sidelined by PSG coach Christophe Galtier, the Argentinian international has decided to return to his first love in Italy.

    Leandro Paredes now aims to revitalize his career in a championship that he holds a strong affinity for while playing for Roma.

    According to the Italian journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, PSG, and the Serie A team have reached an agreement on a €4m transfer fee for the acquisition of the 2022 World Cup winner.

    Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 champions have been attempting to sell the Argentine player for a considerable period but Juventus refused to trigger the €22m option to permanently transfer him to Turin.

    Paredes was in the last year of his contract with the Parisians and was training with the club’s less favored players.

    On Tuesday, August 15, the 29-year-old Argentine arrived at Rome’s Ciampino airport along with Renato Sanches, who will be joining José Mourinho’s team on loan.
