On-loan Roma defender Diego Llorente has been diagnosed with a torn femoral bicep, but his teammate at AS Roma Paulo Dybala appears to be feeling relieved, as his ankle injury displayed no lesions.

Llorente and Dybala hobbled off during the dying embers of Monday’s 3-1 Serie A loss to Atalanta and remain big doubts for this Saturday’s clash with AC Milan.

The on-loan man from Leeds United unexpectedly pulled up clutching his hamstring and was spotted in tears on the bench as tests have displayed a lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.

This nature of the injury typically requires 15-20 days unavailability from action, which is a big blow to Roma since Englishman Chris Smalling and Dutchman Rick Karsdorp are already in the treatment room.

There is some encouraging news concerning Paulo Dybala

The amazing news for AS Roma is that Paulo Dybala has no lesions to his left ankle, but it remains highly bruised after a sprain caused by the Jose Luis Palomino challenge.

The Argentine could be available for selection in Roma’s next encounter against AC Milan and he could even start against Milan this weekend.

Meanwhile, Paulo Dybala in an interview with presenter Diletta Leotta on DAZN’s ‘Scacco Capitale’ revealed how he hated his former teammate Ronaldo when he was a kid, he said: “It was three good years with Cristiano, the team was strong and he gave us something extra.

“The rivalry between him and Lionel Messi is deeply felt in Argentina and as a child, of course, I was always on Messi’s side. One time we were on a plane to go play a game, I was at the back and he was sitting further forward.

“At one point he came to me to talk about football and other things. We used to discuss our lives in general and so I said to him ‘I basically hated you as a kid.

“We had some laughs. We’ve always had a good relationship, a good dialogue.”

The Portuguese and the Argentine spent how many years together at Juventus

Dybala and Ronaldo spent three campaigns together before the former Real Madrid attacker shockingly returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2021.

The teammates won two Serie A titles alongside one Copa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana whilst playing together at Juventus.

Anyway, Paulo Dybala has since left Juventus and he is currently representing Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma who sit 5th on the Italian Serie A.

In spite of fitness issues, the former Palermo attacker has posted an impressive 25 goal contributions in 34 games since arriving from Juventus on a free transfer last summer.

Dybala penned a three-year deal with the Giallorossi while injured Diego Llorente is expected to be back at Leeds United after the expiration of the season.
