Premier League legend and former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is among the many football pundits skeptical of ten Hag’s tactics at Manchester United after defeat to Manchester City in 191st Manchester Derby
Speaking while on punditry role with bein SPORTS, Arsene offered a brutal assessment of Manchester United.
“I would say the gulf between the two teams became bigger and bigger as the game went on. In the end, for such a big club, you felt sorry for Man United because there’s no hope there in the team,” he said.
“I don’t see where they can improve, basically. This team has lost confidence, quality and even spirit today. I would say it was not a great fighting spirit from Man United, on top of that.”
Erling Haaland scored two goals before Phil Foden extended the lead as Manchester United cowered before a more clinical City side.
United gave away the game on a platter to the visitors. They created no clear-cut chances and rarely threatened City defense. They also struggled for possession and were overwhelmed.
The game affirms the wide gulf between the two teams. Manchester City are the undisputed powerhouses of English football and United have swathes of distance to cover to match the Blues.
