Following his coronavirus illness, the 32-year-old did not play a single minute for Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations, as the country’s Football Federation revealed “heart lesions.”

Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal earlier than expected to conduct medical tests, but the former Borussia Dortmund striker has already confirmed that he is fit and healthy.

“Hi guys, I came back to London to do some additional checks, and I’m very happy to say that my heart is absolutely fine and I’m completely healthy!!,” Aubameyang wrote on Instagram.

“Really appreciate all the messages over the last few days and I’m already back at it.”

According to a separate source, Aubameyang and Mario Lemina were both sent home early from the camp due to behavioural issues, which both players confirms to be false.

Since being deprived of his captaincy last month, Aubameyang has not played for Mikel Arteta’s side, and Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has reportedly made an approach to recruit the striker on loan.

The Saudi club wants to loan Aubameyang and “would be obligated to sign him permanently” for roughly £6.6 million. Arsenal is “yet to respond to the bid,” according to the article.

Gabon then decided to send Aubameyang back to Arsenal so that he might undergo more examinations.
