Arsenal transfer

Charlie Patino was promoted to Arsenal’s first team in 2021 following a series of brilliant performances for the Gunners’ youth team. However, he failed to make a single appearance with the senior squad and spent the last two seasons on loan to Blackpool and Swansea City.

The England U-21 star will join the piling list of Arsenal youngsters that have left the club this summer, featuring the likes of Miguel Azeez, Bradley Ibrahim, Marcelo Flores, Zech Medley, Cohan Bramall, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Chuba Akpom, Chido Obi-Martins.

Arsenal transfer update on Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah reached an agreement with the Gunners’ Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest to join the club this summer.

However, the English attacking midfielder will have to wait for Arsenal to sanction the move before joining the club. The Gunners have turned down offers from Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille, including two offers from Nottingham Forest for Eddie Nketiah

Nottingham Forest’s last offer for Eddie Nketiah was to the tune of £25m, but it was turned down with London adamant on having their £30million asking price for the player met.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Eddie Nketiah has agreed to join Crystal Palace with the last stumbling block to the move being Arsenal’s £30million fee demand.

Nottingham Forest are said to be still pressing on for an agreement with the London club but there is no breakthrough yet. Meanwhile, there are suggestions the two clubs could reach an agreement soon before the transfer window closes.

Mikel Arteta set to renew Arsenal contract

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to renew his contract with the club. The Spaniard is on the last lap of his contract, which is s set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The former Manchester City assistant manager survived a rocky start to his reign at the Gunners dugout after taking over as manager in 2019. He failed to win a league game in two months but had the backing of the club’s chief to turn things around.

Fast forward to the last two seasons, Arteta has built Arsenal into one of the best Premier League sides. With a few months left to the expiration of his current contract, sources close to the club reveal talks are ongoing with the 42-year-old over a new contract.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Arteta is likely to sign a new long-term contract with the Gunners. It is yet unclear when Arteta will put pen to paper on a new deal but reports have it that it could be early into the current campaign.

The club’s chiefs are expecting the team to challenge for the title again. Hence, they don’t want Arteta’s contract renewal saga to be rumbling in the background and disrupting the team.
