Arsenal are looking to lift their first league title since 2004 and such is the joy within some fanbase of the side, that some ticket holders have pegged their tickets on resale websites for a massive profit.

Fans of Arsenal that want to buy tickets second hand presently have to part with more than a grand to be able to get it.

And just a pair of lower tier seats are even on the market for a huge £53,000 each. Normally, the costliest ticket in the Centre Upper is £131.

While fans of the North London side are filled with happiness, followers of other sides joked that some will be paying a gigantic amount to see their team finish second on the table.

A fan responded: “To watch Man City lift the trophy on the big screen?”

A second fan tweeted: “Would love it if it sold for that price and City won the league instead.”

And a third fan commented: “That’s a lot of money to watch them lift nothing.”

Another stated: “Who’s going to pay that much to sit with the gods especially when City will be 9 pts clear aswell.”

Some sections of Arsenal fans are not happy with the development and they are not smiling at the reports of those inflating the ticket prices.

Arsenal are not bothered with other engagements this season, bearing in mind that Mikel Arteta’s side have crashed out of the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League in addition to exiting the Carabao Cup in its early stages.

The Gunners welcome Leeds United to the Emirates on Saturday and that match is expected to be another litmus test to their title credentials.

Throughout the campaign, the North London side have only lost three matches and those defeats were to Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton.
