English Premier League title-chasers Arsenal are planning to open a proposal for Declan Rice as he is still a key target for the summer transfer window.
Declan Rice has been the priority target for Mikel Arteta’s side as Arsenal prepare to go into the market to get big names signings that would assist them in launching a proper assault on the Premier League title next season.
It is reported that Arsenal could additionally sign two midfielders depending on the number of players that will leave the club this summer.
One name that has been reported who could be on his way out of North London is Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka has been linked with a return to Germany to pen a deal with Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen is said to be looking for a combative midfielder for next season and Granit Xhaka is the man that fits the bill.
That definitely could open up a big void in the team which would necessitate the need for a replacement to fill the vacuum.
Declan Rice appears to be the big name target seemingly being prepared to replace the Swiss midfielder.
The manager of Rice, David Moyes has also hinted on the possibility of his captain leaving the side in the summer.
He said: “We honestly hope he stays, we would love for him to be a West Ham player but we are aware that might not be the case at the end of the season.
“So that’s one of the scenarios around planning. There are plans that we have Dec here but we’re also fully aware there is a good chance we won’t have him.”
Arsenal are also ready to smash club transfer record as they prepare £90 million bid for Declan Rice.
West Ham United have pegged Rice’s asking price at £100 million inspite of the contract of the Englishman expiring in 2024.
Although, the Gunners are hesitant to match the valuation, they will be ready to table a contract worth £300,000 per week for Declan Rice.
The 24-year-old has assisted West Ham United to get to the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League and he is on the verge of possibly ending his time with the hammers on a high.
Meanwhile, Rice was seen confronting members of the crowd in their win over AZ Alkmaar which ensured their passage to the final where they would face Fiorentina.
The captain of West Ham United appeared to have thrown an object in the direction of the Dutch fans as a way of showing retaliation for their distasteful act.
He is expected to be in action on Sunday when the Hammers take to the field to battle Leeds United at the London Stadium.
