Liverpool new manager Arne Slot has etched his name into Liverpool’s history books with just nine matches into the season.

The Dutchman’s impressive start to life at Anfield continues with a more brilliant record compared to his predecessors.

He maintained his great run with a 2-0 home win in the UEFA Champions League, against Italian side Bologna.

Alexis Mac Allister put the hosts ahead, finishing neatly from a Mohamed Salah pass in the first half. The Egyptian forward also got himself on the score sheet in the second half, bending a ferocious strike into the top corner.

The win over Bologna did not only serve the team all three points against the Serie A giants but extirpated initial doubts on Slot’s ability to fill the void left by his predecessor Arne Slot. Although it is still quite early to say, there are early signs the ‘Arne Slot era’ is certainly taking Liverpool to a whole new level.

Following the 2-0 victory over Bologna in the UEFA Champions League, Arne Slot is the first Liverpool manager to win eight of his first nine competitive matches as the Reds’ manager.

Arne Slot’s brilliant start with Liverpool this season

The Arne Slot team’s latest win puts the ex-Feyenoord boss in Liverpool’s history and sees the Reds keep up their good form. They have now scored 22 times in all competitions this season, conceding just four times.

Key to his side’s impressive form is the Dutchman’s incredible man-management tactics. Stars like Ryan Gravenberch, Mohammed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Luis Dand iaz, and Trent Alexander Arnold all look rejuvenated under the 46-year-old.

He has been able to bring out the best in nearly all the players in his squad, with Luiz Diaz looking likely to break his highest goal tally since he moved to England. The Colombian has bagged six goal contributions, comprising five goals and one assist in the Premier League.

Also, Slot has effectively balanced the club’s defense and attack. His team has displayed dominance in nearly every game they have played this season, including against big teams like Manchester United and AC Milan.

What perhaps makes the Dutchman’s start to the season more impressive is probably how little he was backed in the 2024 summer transfer window. Federico Chiesa is the only major addition to the team’s outfield options.

Can Arne Slot win the Premier League this season

Given the team’s current form, not too many would put it past them in the England top flight.

The quality of football played so far by Slot’s Liverpool has been up there with the very best. They are already looking like one of the teams to beat in the league.

After six Premier League games, they are currently top of the table, boasting one of the best goalscoring stats. They have scored 12 Premier League goals in six games and kept a clean sheet on four different occasions.

It has been the start of potential champions for the team. Barring any injury to key players or significant drop in form, the Reds could possibly be looking at their second Premier League title in five seasons.

Arne Slot’s UEFA Champions League chances with Liverpool this season

It is still quite too early to say, but like their Premier League chances, it isn’t beyond them to win the 2024-25 Champions League if they continue as they have started.

Five goals and one conceded in two games isn’t a bad start for a team that has the UCL title in sight either.

The team is expected to stage a big challenge for the elite club trophy in Europe following the brilliant string of results at the domestic and European scene under Arne Slot.
