Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap went out injured with his left arm in a temporary amidst fears that he has dislocated his shoulder for the second time this campaign.

Brazilian forward Richarlison and Bella-Kotchap were substituted in the first eight minutes of Saturday’s match, the fastest ever time in the English top-flight that the two teams in the encounter have both made replacements.

The German defender was not in a happy mood as he received treatment by the medics for a worrying injury.

Armel Bella-Kotchap also dislocated his shoulder in October

Armel Bella-Kotchap dislocated his shoulder earlier this season in October but he recuperated just in time to make the World Cup.

However, as he got down on a knee to receive treatment on Saturday he appeared perturbed and he was comforted by Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies.

Ruben Selles brought on to the field Mohammed Salisu to replace the injured Armel Bella-Kotchap.

Reports claimed that Bella-Kotchap has reportedly decided that he won’t be undergoing surgery this season.

And even though that might have assisted him in participating in the 2022 Qatar World Cup in November, it’s uncertain if it’s the reason for his recurrent injury issue with his shoulder.

Shockingly, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton also made another set of enforced substitutions before the end of the first 45.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles replaced Jan Bednarek due to an injury to the Saints defender in the 34th minute and afterwards Antonio Conte removed Ben Davies for Ivan Perisic.

Armel Bella-Kotchap has made 95 appearances so far in his career and he has represented just two clubs in his senior footballing career, VFL Bochum and currently Southampton FC.

The German center defender has also made 2 appearances for the Die Mannschaft of Germany. He was born in Paris, France and he is the son of ex-cameroon international Cyrille Florent Bella.

The German defender could be out of action for a lengthy time due to injury

Armel Bella-Kotchap could face a lengthy time out in the treatment room even more than the two-week international hiatus.

His manager offered the press a quick update on the Injury alongside the Injury to Jan Bednarek and he said: “I didn’t have time, I was just with the doctor for a couple of seconds. The boys are in the hospital and when I have news I will let you know.”

The German defender also picked up a knock two months ago in January during an encounter at the Saint Mary’s against Nottingham Forest.

The medics would be trying all they can to ensure that the 21-year-old is in top shape as it gets to the nervy and important moments of the season for Southampton looking to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Previously, Armel Bella-Kotchap has won the Bundesliga 2 with VFL Bochum in the 2020/21 league campaign and he was arguably the best defender for the German side all through the season.
