Antonio Rudiger, Real Madrid and German International defender pays a visit to Gambia President Adama Barrow.
The former Chelsea center-back took to his Instagram page to share a picture of himself and the country’s president exchanging greetings.
Antonio Rudiger can be seen in the picture he posted on his social media page wearing short sleeve-native clothes, the Gambian president on the other hand, can be seen donning a long sleeve native cloth with a white cap and white shoes.
The 30-year-old former AS Roma defender praised the Gambians as lovely people after he arrived in the country.
The former VfB Stuttgart player went to the country to visit a family member on Friday, 7th of July, 2023, after the Spanish La Liga 2022/2023 season came to an end.
However, Antonio Rudiger spent most of his summer vacation in the African country where he stated how pleased he is with the people of Gambia (the president in particular) during his departure remark.
The one-time UEFA Champions League winner posted a picture on his Instagram page where he was seen shaking hands with the president with the caption, “Thanks to his excellency Mr. President Adama Barrow for the warm welcome during my summer holidays in Gambia, it’s been a pleasure talking to you. All the best for your country and all the lovely people from Gambia”.
Speaking to reporters shortly after meeting President Adama Barrow at the State House in Banjul, the two-time FIFA club world cup winner said it came as a surprise to be interacting with the President.

The Real Madrid defender said his brother had spoken nicely about the country and he’s excited to visit and see how beautiful the nation is with his own eyes.
Rudiger said: “I have to say the people here are very lovely. The interaction was very good and I am very honored”.
