Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte has charged Chile’s Alexis Sanchez to improve his play if he wishes to stay at the club.

The former Barcelona striker stood in for the club’s first-choice striker, Romelu Lukaku due to the suspension served by the Belgian- on the brawl he had with AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic last Coppa Italia outing. But Sanchez could not fire from all cylinders for the Nerazzurris, he could not find the back of the net in their 2-1 defeat to Juventus on Tuesday.

Milan’s Lautuaro Martinez broke the deadlock for Conte-led side at the first nine-minute of play, but Juventus henchman Cristiano Ronaldo outrightly denied Inter Milan for victory through his brace which gives Andrea Pirlo’s men the edge to the Italian Cup final.

The Italian coach was frustrated as his team fell before their Italian counterparts, stating that the 32-year old Chilean should improve on himself in finding the back of the net

“I don’t know if he was tired, of course, he tried to give his best in the game, but he has to be more clinical when it comes to scoring goals,” Conte said

“Numbers for [judging] the strikers are merciless, and his numbers must be better.” He added

The 51-year-old had previously said that Sanchez will regain his form, but it seems that he has lost belief in the former Arsenal forward, looking for a potential player that can replace him at the end of the season

“I won’t talk about Edin Dzeko to Inter because he’s a Roma player. If there are some players unhappy here, we’ll be ready to open negotiations. I’m not asking to sign Dzeko, it’s up to the club. Sanchez is our players want him to be focused on the next match.” Antonio Conte said

Sanchez has appeared 21 times for the Italian giants in the 2020/21 season, but he struggles to find the back of the net twice, unlike Lukaku who has mustered 20 goals.

Inter Milan will looking to redeem themselves at the return leg against Juve next Tuesday, February 9.
