Tottenham’s head coach Antonio Conte has fired back against Bayern Munich for their “disrespectful” remarks about Harry Kane. Conte believes that the German giants overstepped their bounds when they hinted about a possible interest in the England captain.

Spurs have been accustomed to preventing any admiring glances directed at their talismanic striker since they have no intention of selling him. They are disappointed, however, that Robert Lewandowski’s potential replacement, a prolific 28-year-old English frontman, has been openly discussed by the defending Bundesliga champions as they reportedly prepare to line up a bid for the services of Kane.

Few days ago, both Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann and club CEO Oliver Kahn made comments that suggested that Bayern are planning to buy Kane next summer, comments that didn’t excite Conte.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan head coach was not happy with the public declaration and he replied by saying: “Honestly I didn’t hear this. For sure I’m a coach who doesn’t talk about players from other teams.

“I don’t know why [this happened]. The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear with the club. Harry is a part of the project. He is a very important part of the project and yeah only rumors.”

Conte added that he doesn’t like to speak about players from other clubs and if he’s interested in any player he would go to the club and not say it out through the media. He believes that the act is a bit disrespectful to other clubs.

Harry Kane’s teammate Eric Dier has also reacted to the recent transfer rumors surrounding his team captain. While speaking during an interview with Sky Sports he said that it’s normal for every top player to be on the lips of other clubs. However, anything can happen in football because nobody knows what will happen the next day or week.

Dier added that Tottenham Hotspur shouldn’t be bothered about the sudden interest from FC Bayern Munich.

Note that the German Bundesliga champions will be going into the next season without a proven No.9 after selling their star player Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona this summer.

Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona caused a lot of controversies between him and the club after he made his desire to leave public and the club tried to stop him. According to Bayern Munich executives he had one year left in his contract with them and they needed him to complete it.

However, the Poland captain kept pushing for a move while Barcelona continued to submit offers until they reached a £50 million agreement. Robert Lewandowski has taken the No.12 shirt number and played his first match for Barcelona in the early hours of today against Real Madrid which Barca won by a lone goal.
