The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte is convinced that the Premier League club is the place for him ahead of the 2022-2023 season
Recall that Antonio Conte stayed without a job for about six months after he decided to resign as the coach of Inter Milan at the end of the 2020-2021 season in which he helped the club to win the Serie A title.
During the 2021-2022 season, Tottenham Hotspur which was struggling under coach Nuno decided to sack the Portuguese tactician and replaced him with Conte. The Italian coach took the offer mid-season.
As expected, Antonio Conte was able to help Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League campaign after overtaking Arsenal at the tail end of the season.
After such a productive season, coach Antonio Conte who has always complained that Tottenham doesn’t have squad depth like their rivals, decided to have a meeting with the club’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici on Friday, May 27, 2022, while considering his next move.
Reports from the meeting claimed that the club’s board is planning to recruit at least six players ahead of the 2022-2023 season. This means that the club is willing to cooperate with Conte in the transfer market this summer.
Aside from that, the club’s board also promised to sign Conte’s major transfer target Ivan Perisić from Inter Milan this summer.
Futballnews gathered that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to sign a goalkeeper, a central midfielder, a striker, and a center-back before the next season resumes.
As the club is seeking to please Conte by signing established footballers which is not the tradition of the North London club, Tottenham Hotspur must balance the foreign stars in the squad with the club’s homegrown products.
As it stands, Conte is convinced by the plan of the club and is willing to execute the club’s programs ahead of the coming seasons.
Meanwhile, transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that, Conte’s major transfer target, Ivan Perisić is set to join Tottenham Hotspur from Inter Milan.
The 33-year-old Croatia left midfielder is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Premier League club and could undergo medical in London next week.
Ivan Perisić who has played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich played 49 games for Inter Milan this season in which he scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists.
