The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte has admitted that it is not easy to be a coach at the Premier League club ahead of the clash with Everton.

Just like previous coaches at the Premier League club, Antonio Conte have been struggling to establish himself at Tottenham Hotspur.

Recall that the 52-year-old Italian coach was appointed the manager of Tottenham Hotspur on November 2, 2021, months after he resigned as the coach of Inter Milan.

Since he took over from Nuno Espírito Santo, the 52-year-old Italian coach has been recording mixed results. For instance, in Tottenham’s last 10 games, Antonio Conte and his boys have recorded 6 defeats in all competitions.

The good news is that Tottenham are still on the verge of breaking into the top four. They are currently sitting on the 7th spot on the league table with 42 points in 25 games.

As it stands, Tottenham Hotspur are six points away from the 4th spot. If they win their three games in hand, they are likely to find themselves in the top four especially if 4th placed Arsenal start to lose games.

Before Antonio Conte joined Tottenham Hotspur, the Italian coach has managed Juventus, Italy national team, Chelsea, and Inter Milan.

He has won three Italian Serie A titles with Juventus, one Serie A with Inter Milan, one Premier League, and one FA Cup title at Chelsea. Coach Antonio Conte is expected to do the same at Tottenham Hotspur but that has proven to be difficult so far.

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s home clash with Everton later today, March 7, at 21:00, coach Antonio Conte said coaching Tottenham is a new challenge to him.

“Now this is a new challenge for me”, Antonio Conte said. “For sure you need patience and you know at this moment you can’t fight for something important, for what I am used to doing in my past and I think I deserved to do in the past,” he said.

“I deserved to stay and fight to win the league, to win trophies because someone gave me something in my career.

“Now this is a new experience. I repeat I am enjoying these months, we are fighting a lot because we are trying to change a lot of situations on the pitch and outside of the pitch. But if I get to be honest it is not easy.

“We are fighting, we are fighting to try and improve the situation, also because I think they ask of me this. I am trying to improve and give all of myself to try and change the situation.

“The situation is here for many, many years, not only at the last moment.”

The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte has admitted that he was not given a target by the chairman of the club. He revealed that before he was made the coach of Inter Milan, the club administrators gave him a target and the resources needed to achieve the target.

Recall that between 2019 and 2021 at Inter Milan, Antonio Conte helped the Italian club to win the 2020-2021 Serie A title and took the team to the final of the Europa League in the 2019-2020 season.

“I think that when Inter came to my house to ask me to go there, they asked me to win in two years and they gave me the possibility to do what I want,” the Italian coach said.

“I can tell you this. With Tottenham, honestly, we didn’t speak about this. Maybe the target is different because in Italy there was only Juventus, also Milan and Naples, but Juventus was the first to win nine titles in a row.

“When you know you only have one opponent and also the possibility of the club, you want to win in two years or three years.

“In two years we won and now Inter Milan is one of the best teams in Italy. Now the situation I have found is totally different. We can’t compare the situation with my experience at Inter Milan.

“For this reason, we have to be focused on finishing the season in the best possible way, then the situation will be much more clear.”

When last did Tottenham Hotspur win a major title?

The last time Tottenham Hotspur won a major title was in 2008. They beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium to win the 2008 Carling Cup.

Since then, the Premier League club have appointed a series of coaches to help the club win a major title all to no avail.

In the 2020-2021 season coach Jose Mourinho helped Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for the FA Cup final. But the club decided to sack him a few days before the final.

Unfortunately for the north London side, Manchester City defeated them to end their dream of winning a major title last season.

Since the club appointed Antonio Conte as a coach, the club’s fans have a strong hope that the Italian coach would help them to win a title. But that dream seems not to be possible this season.
