Ex-Italy international, Antonio Cassano has described the display of Juventus’s Cristiano Ronaldo display in the club as selfish; hence the Portuguese are struggling under club manager Andrea Pirlo.

Last Thursday, the Old Ladies suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat in Portugal-which is Ronaldo’s home country, they were stunned by Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega goals which made Federico Chiesa 82nd minute goal not enough to even level the one-goal deficit.

But it was observed in the last UEFA Champions League match in Portugal, the 36-year-old forward could only lay two passes and managed one shot on target against Porto which is the first time he had one shot in a UCL match since 2019 against Atletico Madrid.

But the five-time UCL winner is the club’s most productive player, scoring 23 times in 27 appearances.

However, Antonio Cassano concluded that the former Manchester United player has been struggling in Turin, going through some difficult times under Pirlo this season.

“I have always said, even though he is a phenomenon and has scored a billion goals, that with Andrea Pirlo’s idea of football he could run into difficulties,” Cassano said
“He scores a goal per game, it’s true, but he struggles with Andrea’s idea. He’s always been a bit selfish, he doesn’t give a damn about others scoring goals” he added
The former Real Madrid player described Ronaldo as a player who likes to score not for just ordinary game but a great game

“He’s the kind of player that lives to score, not for the game, for the great match. He lives to score and at this moment the situation is getting worse. The years pass for everyone and he is having difficulties.” He noted.

Cassano said that, though Juve has bought a high profiled player, he is facing some trying times in the club.

“The paradox is that Juventus have bought a player who has won five Champions Leagues but has so many difficulties in the Champions League.
He noted the Italian based side should have judged Pirlo by giving him some time to prove his worth but they want him to deliver quick
“This is because, since [Maurizio] Sarri, Juventus are trying to show a style that is different to its history. It’s clear that Pirlo must be judged in four or five years, but Juventus want everything immediately.”

Since he arrived in 2018 from Real Madrid, Ronaldo has scored 88 goals with 19 assists appearing 116 times for Juve.
Juventus are in the fourth position-eight points behind Inter Milan and will be facing Crotone on Monday to moving towards being a contender for the Italian topflight crown
