Ansu Fati will continue his journey at FC Barcelona until 2027 as he has agreed on a new six-year deal which comes with a one billion euros buy-out clause.

The 18-year-old Spanish winger gained promotion to the club’s senior team on September 23, 2020. He made his first appearance for FC Barcelona when he was 16 years and 298 days old. That makes him the second-youngest player to play for the Spanish giants.

Amidst a couple of injuries one of which kept him out of football for 10 months, Ansu Fati has made 47 appearances in all competitions. In those games, he scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists.

Within the space of three years in the FC Barcelona senior team, the youngster has broken a couple of records which include Barcelona’s youngest La Liga goalscorer, the youngest player to score and assist in a La Liga match, and the club’s youngest player in the Champions League.

He is seen as the next big thing from the club’s football academy and the club is trying everything possible to keep him at the club as long as possible. Hence, FC Barcelona had to offer him a new and improved deal with an incredible release clause.

Though details of the new deal have not been made public, Futballnews can confirm that a 1billion euros have been included in the new 6-year deal.

Ansu Fati signed the new deal today, Thursday, October 21, 2021. Hence, he is the second player after Pedri that has 1billion euros included in his contract with FC Barcelona.

Recall that when Lionel Messi ended his 17 years relationship with Barcelona, Fati was given his iconic jersey number 10 which means that the youngster is seen as a direct replacement for the 6 times Ballon d’Or winner.

After he agreed to sign the 6-year deal, Ansu Fati said he has worked hard to remain at FC Barcelona and is happy with the new deal.

“I’m very happy, especially to continue with the club I love so much,” Fati said. “Being here is what I’ve worked for all these years and, thank God, the club has allowed me to continue.

“Now, I have to keep working and restore confidence on the field. The goal, as always, is to continue improving day by day both as a player and as a person, and compete to win everything.”

Fati is the second youngster at FC Barcelona that signed a long-term contract with the club in October 2021. The first youngster that extended his stay at the Spanish side this month is Pedri.
